A socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions, congress, exhibitions, business, social and sporting, public, and cultural events.

The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 133 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.

Sustainable Development on the Agenda of Multilateral Institutions
Russia is at the center of our strategies. Gas is a natural energy resource, but it is also a great option for the energy transition, because gas also allows us to generate electricity with much less CO2 emissions. <...> Gas makes this energy transition possible. We must not forget that the energy transition, sustainability, is not only about the planet and ecology, it is about all the men and women who live on the planet. And our challenge is to make this revolution, to make this transition fair, so that the interests of all men and women in every country, including developing countries, are taken into account

Transformations in the Energy Sector
Stability is a good thing, since it is hard to control the market based only on the price. <…> The question is what kind of investments are needed. We have reduced the investments during the last 3 years in order to improve our own balances. Another question concerns the pace we should resume production with. Transparency and stability are key factors here as well,

Total is a global company and we were considering potential investments in Iran on condition that the USA do not introduce secondary sanctions. If sanctions occur, we understand that the company like Total cannot risk and lose access to American financial system and markets
